NUS Awards for Study Abroad (NASA) Scholarship

Good news for everyone going on Exchange from NUS! The International Relations Office allows all undergraduate exchange students to apply for this NASA scholarship regardless of which country you are going to 🙂

Application Process

The application is done after you have been offered, internally, a spot on the exchange programme. The only thing you need to do is:

  1. Accept the internal offer via NUS’ OPAS portal
  2. Select the option where you choose to apply for the scholarship
  3. Wait for the results of application which will be sent via email

That’s all! Simple right?

You should not stress too much about the results because it won’t come out for quite a while. I applied for the scholarship (and accepted the internal offer) during the first few days of result release in January and the results were only out early July. I can’t believe it’s been half a year since I applied LOL.

Anyway, the scholarship is awarded solely based on your Cumulative Average Points (CAP). There is a cut off every year but there is no way to find out what it is! I guess it depends on the pool of exchange people who are going with you! My advice is: just apply! There is no application fee or disadvantage if you apply. Plus, you will never know 😉

Scholarship Amount

This scholarship pays a lump sum amount. No air tickets or settlement benefit is involved. The amount is also different for the different “categories” of students:

Good luck!
